Quality: looks solid and has good reputation for quality....nice typical silver shure finish ...did not notice any flaws Value: the value of this thing is probably based on whether or not you want a higher quality mic, ...you could get by with the regular sm58, ..but it's a little bit more muddier in the mid range, ... for what you get in the beta, it's worth the extra money, ..very clean and clear sound, ..good depth Sound: very clean sound, ..with good clarity and depth,..... i compared it to sm57 beta, ..AudioTechnica mic in the same price range, ..and also seinheiser, ...the sm58-beta stood out.
