Product Reviews for PreSonus DigiMAX 96k 8-Channel Microphone Preamp with Limiters, EQ, Digital Output Feature: The digital output is poorly designed. You can only get four channels onto the lightpipe-out at 96 kHz! The Focusrite is better at this. The pad feature is great and VERY well implemented in circuitry. The "enhance" feature is downright silly- the whole point of multitracking is that you don't HAVE to use EQ or (much) dymanics while recording. Quality: Well made. Presonus is great about repair and providing parts when necessary. Value: Good value. Sound: Good sound. The actual front end to the preamp is a TI INA163, which is top-notch. Unfortunately, noise performance is disappointing compared to the Focusrite octopre. Support: Absolutely fantastic customer support. Overall: Very well designed; the preamp itself is nice and compact.
