Product Reviews for Martin HD28 Acoustic Guitar (with Case)
Feature: This is simply what an acoustic should be like. The neck is a tad thicker but this guitar will age better than, say, an equivalent Taylor because of details like that.BTW, amplifying this guitar and retaining the tonal quality is difficult. Martin recommends their (rebranded Fishman) piezo pick-up but that basically makes this wonder sound like a $200 Yamaha. If you're going to gig and amplify this, plan on external mics for best effect.
Quality: Somebody who really cares about guitars made mine.
Value: I think of all the acoustic guitars I've bought over the years before buying my HD28 and I wonder why I wasted all that time: I certainly have paid for more guitars than it would've cost me to just buy this dream in the first place.
Desirability: It's the classic acoustic for a good reason.
Sound: Sweetness and tone radiate from this guitar. The fullness of some chords makes it sound like a piano with all fingers down.
Support: I didn't use an in-hole humidifier for the first year I owned this and developed a tiny crack at the bridge. The luthier who fixed it CAME TO MY HOUSE to pick up the guitar and RETURNED IT TO MY HOUSE when he had finished. Absolutely the best experience I've ever had with guitar service.
Overall: I will have this guitar my entire life. Each year that passes it gets BETTER tone -- awesome, just awesome.
