Product Reviews for Epiphone Les Paul Custom Flame Top

Feature:
It's a solid insturment, the body and the fretboard are high quality. I've played through a number of different set-ups, and you can get it to sound good on just about any amp.

Quality:
Plan on getting this guitar "tuned-up" at your local repair shop after you get it ($40). It sounded good before I took it in, it sounded truly incredible, AFTER the tune-up. In general the quality is good, but the details were lacking. There were some loose parts, the intunation was way out, and the action was too high, when I got it in the mail. I had the repair shop lower the action, file the nut, tighten the pots, and tuners, fix the intunation, and fix the bridge that was installed backwards.

Value:
The same or better then a Gibson that cost 2 or 3 times as much. I played them both, the Epiphone is better.

Desirability:
When I open the case, in front of somebody who hasn't seen it before the usual response "WOW" look at that.

Sound:
The thing sounds incredible, sustain forever, great for Rock and Roll, blues.

Support:
I had the repair described above.

Overall:
I wish I knew about the need for getting this guitar "tuned-up" at your local repair shop before I bought it. I played it for a few months, no problems, and one of my friends was trying it out, playing it, and reccomended taking it in. He was right. I like it better then the Fenders and Gibson I tried, but eventually I will probably get a strat to go with it.
