Product Reviews for Electro-Harmonix 12AX7EH Preamp Tube Quality: They seem well-built, I haven't had them long enough to break but reviews elsewhere say they're sturdy. These guys sound pretty good even when cold (perhaps a little harsh), but as with all tubes it's best to let them warm up for a while each time you use them. Value: I've seen these for more money on other sites, and I'd gladly pay those higher prices if zzounds wasn't around to beat them ;) Sound: Transparent gain at low levels, then warm lows creep in, and eventually you get that tube "crunch" on the upper mids with even warmer lows. Overall: I'd seriously consider replacing stock tubes in any future tube gear I get with these right away, they sound better than Sovtek and Sovtek-clones (which is a huge chunk of what's out there). Supposedly these are a little more susceptible to microphonics than Sovteks, but I haven't had any problems yet.
