Product Reviews for Boss TU2 Chromatic Tuner
Feature: It's a very versatile tuner. The one main drawback that it has is that is was one of the first "new wave" tuners out. It tunes low tunings, but not drop tunings. It has good accuracy for both bass and guitar, but it seems like you have to tune in relative quiet. Another thing that I personally find very unhelpful is that you can only tune electric instruments. My acoustic is a real pain to tune. I have to tune an electric and then tune my acoustic to the electric! So much for time saving! This tuner is really primarily for live applications. For that it has been outstanding and a life saver. For the studio, it's not so handy.
Quality: Another good quality it has is that it is built into a BOSS pedal enclosure, which makes it indestructable. It doesn't get any better than that.
Value: I found the value to about par. It's not a real great deal, and it's not way over-priced.
Overall: Like I said, it really is a live tuner. I mostly work in a studio now, and I find it kind of annoying. I gotta bend over to plug it in, mess with the cords between the amp, guitar, and tuner. I can't tune my acoustic, and I can't fully tune to drop D. I am going to replace it, but if I ever play live again, I'll probably end up buying another one, or the model up from it, if they produce one.
